Had the good fortune to visit Boston recently in October to shoot at wedding. Vassanta was able to join me to assist in lighting, crowd control, and even doing some of her own artistic shooting of the event.  She did a fabulous job!!  But, that is for another blog.

As you may know by now, she is about 7 months pregnant and we continued where we left off in August when we did our first pregnancy shoot together. So, we turned our hotel  room into an impromptu studio and I captured some lovely glamorous images with the natural light streaming through the window.  Ever since Australia last year, I seem to be shooting  a lot of high key images lately with the sun framing the subject.   I really love the results, giving the images a natural dreamy, glamorous look. In fact, I’ve been doing so much of this type of shooting it’s probably becoming my signature style!

While Vassanta was doing some other modelling work, I headed for the Rhode Island coast.  I”ve never visited this part of the country before.  I feel in love with all the little maritime communities and lovely forests.  I had planned on visiting Newport.  However, I have this terrible fear of driving over tall suspension bridges.  Sure enough, there was one I had to cross to get to Newport.  So I took a detour to avoid it and found this beautiful state park by the ocean with tall reeds leading to a rocky coast.  The next day, Vassanta and I had some time to kill before her flight and went back to the same location. She loved it and said let’s shoot!.  There were all kinds of fishermen around trying to catch something off the cliffs surrounding us.  But we found some secluded areas and got some lovely shots with the reeds, rocks and ocean.  It was a lovely day with gorgeous light.  What I found amusing after we were looking at the images together is that  I noticed that the rock formations and her poses were almost identical to some we had shot at Point Reyes Seashore in CA last year.  I’m tempted to create some side-by-side composites to show pre-pregnancy and pregnancy shots together from last year…..but she’d probably kill me!
